Lilian Lancaster, in her fifteenth year, to amuse and entertain her sick brother drew various countries in this fun manner. She later illustrated them in a 1912 volume "Stories of Old". This map is part of an atlas which consists of a collection of twelve maps of European countries, namely, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, spain & portugal, Italy, Prussia, Germany, Holland & Belgium, Denmark, Russia, each with a humourous stereotype created by the Lilian based on the the geography of the country.

This Poster contains a verse at the nottom reading:

Beautiful England,-on her Island throne, -
Grandly she rules,-with half the world her own; From her vast empire the sun ne'er departs : She reigns a Queen-Victoria, Queen of Hearts.
