This print is a reproduction of a vintage botanical educational plate from Köhler's Medizinal Pflanzen, a German herbal written principally by Hermann Adolph Köhler, and edited after his death by Gustav Pabst. The work was first published in the late 19th century by Franz Eugen Köhler of Gera.

Acorus calamus (also called sweet flag or calamus) is a species of flowering plant, a tall wetland monocot of the family Acoraceae, in the genus Acorus. In traditional medicine it has been used to treat digestive disorders and pain.
